Liveport runs WiFi site surveys using industry-standard methodology, predictive modelling, on-site Ekahau walk-throughs, and vendor-neutral documentation. Available standalone for tender preparation, due-diligence, and second-opinion assessments, or as the first step in a full Liveport project.
Most WiFi underperforms because it was sold before it was surveyed. We don’t do that.
The site survey is the foundational service Liveport runs, every project starts here, including the small ones. It’s also a service we sell on its own, to operators who want a vendor-neutral assessment before signing with anyone.

Procurement language vs reality on-site.
WiFi tenders typically include phrases like “carrier-grade coverage” or “guest-ready performance.” Those phrases mean different things to different vendors, and almost none of them include “we’ll prove it on-site before you sign.”
Without an independent survey, the operator has no way to:
- Know whether a vendor’s quote is sized correctly for the actual building
- Compare two competing tenders against the same baseline
- Hold a vendor accountable to performance after deploy
- Catch the dead zones a spreadsheet model doesn’t show
The Liveport engagement model addresses each of these by separating the assessment from the hardware sale.
Predictive design, on-site Ekahau, or hybrid, three ways to map a network.
There are three valid design methodologies, and the right one depends on the building. Liveport picks the methodology that matches your situation:
- Predictive design, RF modelling from validated floor plans, attenuation values and ceiling heights. Used for new-build and pre-occupancy projects. Liveport’s default for hotel and PBSA new-build.
- Measured design, on-site Ekahau Pro walk-through capturing live RF data. Used for retrofits, second-opinion assessments and post-deploy validation.
- Hybrid, combination of both. Predictive coverage in inaccessible areas (operating wards, locked rooms), measured data everywhere else.
The right methodology depends on the building. Predictive is faster and cheaper but only works where the building exists on paper or where access is constrained. Measured is the gold standard for any operating environment.
What comes back in the survey report.
Every Liveport survey delivers documented evidence, not a sales pitch. The report includes:
- Coverage heat maps, per floor, per area, showing signal strength and capacity
- Dead-zone identification with root-cause analysis (RF interference, attenuation, AP placement)
- Existing-hardware audit, what’s working, what isn’t, what to retain
- Recommended AP count and placement, with rationale tied to building characteristics
- Capacity model for peak occupancy and high-density scenarios
- Configuration recommendations, channel planning, transmit power, band-steering, fast roaming, QoS
- Three-tier implementation framework, configuration optimisation, targeted enhancement, or full redesign, sized to budget
- Bill of Materials for each tier, vendor-neutral
That’s the deliverable. Operators have used Liveport surveys for tender preparation, due-diligence ahead of a rebuild quote, second-opinion assessment, and post-deploy validation. The methodology is the same on every job; the recommendations are sized to each building.
