It’s been quite a journey following the NBN, and its nearly everywhere now. But there are so many types of NBN, so how can you know what type is right for you?
A lot of the NBN connections types available are dictated by your area’s infrastructure, so generally you won’t have control over what type you will get. But what you do now have control over is what speed you want, and which provider to go with.
The NBN is a government owned infrastructure which allows all telephone companies provide a service at a competitive price, for the exact same connection. Simply head to the NBN website, (http://www.nbnco.com.au/), and see which providers are in your area. You now have to power to choose the best provider for you based on price, speed, and customer service.
In regard to speed, NBN offers packages of 25mbps, 50mbps, and 100mbps. The average person uses 5mbps if they are streaming video, so for most hotels we recommend the 100mbps connection.
With more speed, comes more use, and with more use, it may be time for an equipment upgrade. If your network is over 4 years old, it may need a ‘Health Check’ to find out if your network is making the most of your new fast internet speeds.
